Connecting a 3-pin relay (+,L,P) as a 2-pin relay: You can easily use this relay as a 2-pin relay for your two 21W bulbs The designations mean the following: + (Plus): Connect the power cable coming from the ignition switch or battery (+12V) here. L (Load / Bulb): Connect the cable that leads to the turn signal switch (and thus to the bulbs) here. P (Pilot): Leave this pin unconnected. If you now have a 2-pin relay with X and L, simply connect it as follows: The cable from pin X now goes to pin +. The cable from pin L remains exactly the same and goes back to pin L. The cable from pin P (if you used one previously) simply remains unconnected. Why does this work? The P pin stands for "Pilot" and is only intended for the indicator light in the instrument cluster. Since you are using two 21W bulbs, the relay has enough load (42 watts) to blink correctly and at the right rate. The turn signals will work perfectly. Because you have two 21W bulbs, the relay will blink at the correct rate immediately. If the turn signals stay on continuously or don't work at all after connecting them, simply swap the two wires at terminals X and L.
